3. Cash is Crime

            Money as the root of evil, and cash as it’s compounding vehicle for social injustice and crime: physical cash is responsible for supporting illicit activities, widespread economic injustice, and discrimination.
             
            An augmented reality (AR) experience built for the iPhone. Upon pointing the in app phone camera at certain denominations of US currency ($1, $5, $10, $20), an AR plane is created on top of the US bill and a video player is inserted on this plane. A random video from a bank will begin playing.
           
            These videos range from news reports of bank robberies, tax evasion, and retail theft, to research findings related to this lack of banking and cash liquidity in low income communities perpetuating economic injustice, to video of violent cocaine and other illicit drug busts.
